EAAAAARTHQUAAAAAKE!

My theory to the cause of the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked the east coast...
Sorry for the shake up gang, but she REALLY loves her jumperoo!

New Beginnings

Yes yet another long break since my last post, told you I'm not good at this blogging thing. Ah, where to start?

I am yet again a little crazy with trying to take on too much all at once.  Karly starts dance school beginning of Sept.  We are potentially closing on a new house the end of Sept which means once again I am packing up the house for the move by myself and most likely doing the closing paperwork by myself.  As if that isn't enough I am also starting school to finally pursue my ADN.  Sixteen credit hours all online with  a three year old running around and a 6 month old blowing raspberries in the background. Oh boy!

Karly gave herself her first concussion earlier this week.  I didn't take her to the doctor as she never lost consciousness and she didn't act funny afterwards, so it is a self diagnosed concussion.  My little ballerina was twirling and dancing in her dress.  Every other day there are toys in the living room floor, today I actually cleaned and maybe this threw off her groove, but the poor child tripped over her big feet that she so graciously inherited from both her father and myself.  She then dove head first into our fish tank stand, nailing it right between the eyes.  What resulted was a toddler and mommy meltdown moment followed by a swift change of gears into nurse mode as I witnessed the goose egg start growing, slapped the frozen peas on her face and then assessed her mental state (as best as you could with a three year old). After calming down and icing she was back to Karly wanting to play and sit on the couch and watch movies, only she  kind of resembled a Klingon.

My little trooper though, she never let it get her down. Nor did she learn from her lesson.  Next day she is back to twirling and spinning around, dangerously close to the fish tank, I remind her what happens and she moves away from the tank, but dangerously close to the coffee table.  The following day...I inform her it is naptime and she attempts to be slick, tries to run from me and hide under her bed, only to drive the top of her head into her bed frame.  *shakes my head*  This is what she looked like by day three...
Yep it's a shiner...that's black on the insides of both her eyes

So you can imagine the stares I got as we are walking through the grocery store.

Claire has decided she is tired of sitting still and watching Karly have all the fun and has started getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. One time she kind of leap-frogged it forward and landed on her face. She seems to be following in Karly's footsteps alright.  She will get the hang of it soon enough, just in time for me to worry about baby proofing the new house.

That is all for now as I have HOMEWORK to complete now.
Until next time,
Keep it Classy, Carolina.

How can some people be so close yet feel so far away?  It makes my heart ache wanting to be closer to them.  How do you get closer when you feel a wall blocking you out and you don't even know why? How long do you try before you just give up and let them take steps on their own?  Do you confront them on it, or sit there and pretend like nothing is wrong even though you feel like your heart is breaking?  Somedays I feel like washing my hands of it all, giving up and feeling saddened. Other days I want to put up my own wall to keep my heart from feeling broken, I want to form a grudge in self defense. Yet still other days I feel like throwing up my arms and screaming, "What in the hell did I do?" Just to see if maybe I'll get an answer.
I'll say I give up trying to please everyone, but in truth, that is my nature.  I say it's time to focus on myself, my husband, and my little ones but I still worry about those I care about. In the back of my head, when things are quiet, I still wonder if I did something, or if I could do something to make it ALL, EVERYTHING, alright. If I could say one thing to please everyone. If I could somehow bring it all together and fix what is broken.
Who knows, maybe it's all in my head. Maybe it isn't broken but will never be what I think it could be. Maybe I just have too high of expectations. The Utopia I create in my head can't be a reality.  Is it bad to wish with all your heart that things could just be perfect and good for once?
Guess it leaves your heart open to being broke frequently. It's okay though, I'll fix it right?

Yeah...so I'm not so good at this blogging thing...

But then again I'm like that...I've always started something, gotten all excited about it and then lose interest.   Mild A.D.D me thinks.

I have however wanted to take the moment to specifically thank my friends and family for loving me so much, so I'm doing that here.  You guys know who you are.  You have helped me move, helped me with Karly,  helped me keep my sanity during this pregnancy, and have listened to me gripe and whine about missing my husband.  I became a stay at home mom, moved, sent my husband overseas, taken care of a two year old, and been pregnant all in a very short time span. I look back now and wonder what in the hell was I thinking, but would not change a thing because through all these life changes I've found the person I want to be.  I'm at last happy.

The person I owe the most thanks to, however is my husband, for giving me this happiness.  Yes dear I am by nature a woman and will still find things to gripe about I'm sure, but I'm happy.  The sacrafices you have made to support us financially so that I am able to care for our children and be the better housewife I am forever thankful for.  My only gripe *snickers* can you find a way to do this and stay home?  I miss you like whoa!

While I'm thankful for my friends and family for attempting to keep my mind off my best half being gone, I must admit your attempts are futile.  There is no Courtney without Glen.  This is her clone that goes into auto-pilot when he has to go away.  The real Courtney is curled up in a ball some where struggling to breathe without her air.  Good news though, the "oxygen" is returning to my atmosphere very soon and I will once again function fully without glitches. With any luck it will be allowed to stay longer cause Momma is going to start choking once the baby gets here, so I'll need it that much more. By 'it' I of course mean 'him'.  ( of note: I was going to say hyperventilating but then I realized that is actually TOO much breathing and I can never have too much Glen)

Anyways back on the subject,(see A.D.D) once again, thanks to all that are near and dear to my heart for your attempts. I love each and every one of you.  Now it's time for this clone to go power down and reboot for tomorrow.

What Have I Gotten Into?

After reading several of my friend's blogs and enjoying them I've decided to give it a try myself.  Mainly as a way for friends and family to keep up with what is going on with our ever growing family, and to document those special little moments that I might otherwise catalog in my brain but lose after a few months.

Special moment of today:  As my darling daughter crawls into my bed for my wake up call she points to my pants and says, "Mommy, what's that?" It's her new favorite question to ask even when she often knows the answer.  I smiled and yawned, gave her a big hug and said, "Karly these are camoflauge pajamas"
"No Mommy," She replied, "those are Daddy's pants."

Okay, she caught me, I like to lounge around in Daddy's clothes when he's gone, in some silly way it makes me feel closer to him.  We have two weeks until he returns back home for his month.  I can't wait, I have so much special bonding time I want to cram into that month that I have to remind myself he will need some rest to recover.

Today we are thinking about heading out to my favorite kid's consignment shop look for some deals on winter maternity clothes and some winter clothes for the kiddo.

Well its naptime for the household so that is about all for now.
